Find the perfect place to live the rest of your life as a tree in this short 3d surreal video game.

(The current version was uploaded the day the jam ended, taking into account the feedback obtained from the week the rating lasted)

Your goal is to reach the end of the level before you turn into a tree, to do this avoid direct sunlight (because sun is good for trees) and rest near other trees (because the roots consume all the nutrients from the soil).

I made this game in 3 days for the third wowie game jam. Most assets I got for free from the unreal engine's marketplace. I made the main character for a previous proyect of mine, but I edited and animated it for this game.

There is not much more to add, play the game and any feedback, comments, critics, questions, are welcomed.

Controls:

  1. WASD: move
  2. Space bar: sprint
  3. Left mouse: say hello (not of any use)
  4. right mouse: throw apple (you can hold to know the direction it will go)
  5. ESC/Enter: pause/main menu

You can lower the graphics from the menu if it goes slow for you.

AMAZING

Cool, thanks

This was such a cool and unique experience! I love how simple the gameplay is, but it's still really compelling to play. And the player turning into a dead tree/checkpoint when they fail is genius, I also liked how you can talk to them and they encourage you. The only thing I didn't really like was the stamina meter because I always forgot about it and it would run out at the worst possible time. Overall I loved this game, and I think it ties in with the jam's topic really well!

Thanks, that waiting time is something a lot of people have complained about and I will reduce the duration in the post-jam version

The big world was nice. I could feel a connection to the poor trees that lost the game before me XD. I liked the possibility to turn to low graphics. The apple-blue guy mechanic was difficult to understand, a tutorial for it would have been nice. I would have liked a zoom-out possibility on my mouse wheel to enjoy the nice map better. Good job! https://axiom-gamelabs.itch.io/my-little-fishes
